Speckle Pop Socks
Knitted socks aren’t just for winter! The Speckle Pop Socks are super fun and pretty, especially when matched with your favourite summer outfits! The lightweight and breathable fabric features an open lace design, anklet style length and plenty of textural interest. The folded cuff not only allows for the delicate picot edge but also provides more structure to help prevent them slipping down. These little shortie socks aren’t particularly yarn hungry which makes them perfect for using up left-overs from other sock projects. Or why not knit a couple of pairs out of one full skein? Go on, you know you want to!
The Speckle Pop Socks are knit from the top down and in the round. The cuff is worked in 1×1 rib with a subtle picot edge. Knit double depth in a contrast colour, the ribbed cuff is folded to the inside of the sock and secured to help provide structure and prevent them from slipping down. To improve the fit further, work the optional short row cuff shaping to add height to the back on the sock. The heel is an eye of partridge heel flap and gusset and is worked directly after the rib. The main colour and lace pattern is introduced for the gusset and foot. The delicate eyelet lace design is worked on the instep whilst the sole is knit in stockinette stitch. The sock is then finished with a traditional wedge toe, once again in the contrast colour.
